There are a couple of numbers on the plate, "2656", and "70", possibly the pattern and/or mold numbers.  This plate is a true antique treasure, it will add a touch of elegance to your home, perfect for display on a wall or cabinet.

The "STAR – Austria" backstamp was a common mark, used by many different makers.  What experts agree on is this mark indicates the piece was made between the late 19th century and and early 20th century and definitely before 1918, before the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918.
